LK, Jaitley heap praise on Modi

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani, who had endorsed a United States Congressional report which said Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi could be the next prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, on Saturday said his party has several leaders who can perform any given responsibility.

Mr Advani, who was in Ahmedabad to support Mr Modi’s sadbhavana fast, said India could rise to new heights at global level if the entire country adopts “zero tolerance” policy towards corruption and terrorism, as it is in Gujarat. Mr Advani is the MP from Gandhinagar.
On the BJP’s PM candidate issue, Mr Advani said the BJP has several leaders who can deliver and have “the capacity to discharge any responsibility the party gives them”.
“So far as this is concerned, there is hardly any doubt. Therefore, I have already written about this on my blog yesterday,” he said.
Mr Advani maintained whatever he has to say on this issue, he would say to his party.
Terming Mr Modi’s fast “historical,” Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said Mr Modi’s government has helped Gujarat to reach new heights. Mr Jaitley is Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat.
Commenting on Mr Modi’s speech at his fast venue, Mr Jaitley said, “In the next few months, each and every word of what Modi has said would be analysed.”
Mr Jaitley said: “On the one side, we have a leaderless government at the Centre whereas on the other, we have a government in Gujarat which is helping the state to reach new heights. On the one side, we have politics of honesty and on the other side, we have politics of corruption.”
Mr Jaitley said from 2002, after facing cyclones, earthquakes and communal riots, the way Gujarat has come up on the national scene, it showcased the strength of the political leadership in the state.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
