Legin murder accused a quiet student: Headmistress
Salimma Joseph, the headmistress of Muttar St George Higher Secondary School where Lejin Varghese was studying, ruled out media reports that the accused in the case was the class leader. She asked how such baseless reports had come about.
Lejin Varghese was found dead near his school on Monday night.
“I had not yet received any complaints against the accused. I can only say that he was an average student.”
She said cops must conduct a thorough investigation to know whether more people were involved.
The accused was always calm and quiet in school. So it is difficult to believe the crime was committed by the accused alone, she said.
Education minister P.K. Abdu Rabb on Thursday declared 2 lakh as financial support to the family of Lejin. He said the fund was allotted from the Chief minister’s rehabilitation fund.
