Koda aide names politicians, babus
The CBI, which arrested Binod Sinha on Thursday, is reportedly trying to gather details about the overseas purchase of land by former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda and his associates. The alleged frontman of Koda, Binod Sinha, was arrested from a farmhouse located in Mehrauli area of South Delhi.
According to sources, Binod Sinha revealed the names of certain politicians and bureaucrats who were allegedly associated with Koda during interrogation. It is also believed that Sinha has confessed that he alongwith other associates of Koda namely, Sanjay Choudhary, invested huge amount in Dubai, Liberia, Hong Kong and Thailand.
Sources said that Koda’s associates, including Binod Sinha and Sanjay Choudhary, allegedly purchased land in Thailand in 2007 through Mr Rianto. Investigation has also revealed that to purchase land (deed no. 16665, 16666 and 1957) in Thailand, payments in several crores were made through hawala channel to Mr Rianto by Koda’s associates, sources added.
“Koda’s associates also made payments in several crores through Mr Rainto to purchase mines in Indonesia,” sources added.

Rath wants Army chief as witness

Lt. Gen. P.K. Rath, who is facing court martial in the Sukna land scam, has pleaded that Army Chief Gen V.K. Singh should be summoned as a witness, arguing that he was subjected to “biased” action aimed at preventing him from becoming the Deputy Chief of Army Staff his submission before the General Court Martial (GCM) being held in Shillong, Rath has contended that there were various discrepancies in the case and the Court of Inquiry (COI), on the basis of which the court martial was ordered against him, had been convened because of “evil design”.
He alleged that “every authority who has dealt (with) the matter so far has abdicated their statutory duty and obligation by giving up to the whims of some individual with misplaced perception and preconceived notions about the matter,” said the petition moved by his counsel Maj. S.S. Pandey. Rath, the former Commander of West Bengal-based 33 Corps, is being tried for granting NoC for construction of an educational institute.
