Kishenji key aide surrenders to Didi
In a major success for CM Mamata Banerjee in the battle against left-wing extremism, most-wanted female Maoist action squad commander Suchitra Mahato, who had escaped with a bullet injury after the death of Kishenji in an encounter on November 24, 2011, surrendered on Friday.
Suchitra, 35, is wife of slain rebel commander Sashadhar Mahato and was wanted in 16 cases. She gave herself up at the intelligence branch headquarters of West Bengal Police. Her second husband Prabir Gharai of the Maoist-backed People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities in Lalgarh, was in toe.
