Katta bail plea hearing adjourned to October 28
Karnataka High Court on adjourned to October 28 hearing on the bail plea of former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, arrested in an alleged land scam case.
Justice B. V. Pinto adjourned the hearing on the application filed on October 21 by Katta who sought bail on health grounds. Katta had stated that he was suffering from cancer.
Earlier on October 17, the Special Lokayukta Court had dismissed his bail petition, but permitted him to undergo treatment for cancer in any hospital of his choice in India under police security in mufti.
Katta left for Mumbai yesterday to undergo treatment at the Leelavati Hospital. The former minister is in judicial custody since August 8 for his alleged involvement in the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) scam. He was under treatment at the Victoria Hospital in Bangalore. Katta, his son and city Corporator Jagadish Katta and Managing Director of a software company Srinivasa are accused in the scam.
