Karnataka porngate MLAs explain nature of mobile phone 'clip'
The Karnataka porngate scandal has just turned even more ridiculous.
All three Karnataka MLAs involved in the scandal today submitted replies to assembly speaker K.G. Bopaiah's notice over watching porn in the assembly.
Tainted lawmaker Laxman Savadi said, he watching a video of 'an Iranian woman being raped and murdered' which was'not objectionable'. Savadi also forwarded an apology.
Meanwhile, the second MLA involved, C.C. Patil, said he went over to talk to Savadi, who was watching the clip, and said he told Savadi to shut it down.
And J. Krishna Palemar gave out a 'wrong place, wrong time' angle claiming he took the phone 'not knowing there was such a clip playing'.
Savadi, Patil and Palemar were forced them to quit the D.V. Sadananda Gowda ministry on February 8, a day after cameras caught them, leaving the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party badly bruised.
Speaker Bopaiah said he would go ahead with his plan to set up an assembly committee to probe the action of the three. The Congress and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) have said they will not nominate their members.
The Congress and JD-S maintain there is no need for a probe and the three should be immediately expelled from the assembly.
