Karnataka opposes bail to Madani
The Karnataka government on Friday strongly opposed the bail plea of 2008 Bengaluru serial bomb blasts key accused and PDP leader Abdul Naseer Madani in the Supreme Court accusing him of indulging in terror and anti-India activities.
Karnataka’s counsel T.R. Andhyarujina and Anita Shenoy filed the affidavit before a bench of Justices Markandey Katju and Gyan Sudha Misra, which posted the bail petition for final arguments on May 4.
The state government alleged that Madani was involved in “criminal conspiracy” with the other arrested accused “who nurtured a common intention to wage war against India, to damage the economic fabric of the country and propagating the Islamisation of India and destablise the country”.
