Kalyan: Uma return won’t benefit party

Former BJP leader Kalyan Singh has said that the return of Uma Bharti to the BJP will not benefit the party in any way.

“The BJP is on a ventilator and is in the ICU. Nothing to going to work now — not even the Uma factor,” he told reporters here on Tuesday.
Mr Singh said that the BJP had no moral authority to talk against corruption since the Bangaru Laxman case, Yedurappa case and the coffin scam had taken place during BJP regimes. “There is only a difference of percentage between corruption in the BJP and corruption in the Congress,’ he said. Mr Singh denied that he had any talks with Ms Uma Bharti prior to her return to the party fold. “As for me, there is no question of my returning to the BJP. I will not repeat my earlier mistake,” he added.
