Jundal details Headley role, india tells FBI
Indian intelligence agencies have for the first time sent an elaborate report to America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation giving fresh evidence on the involvement of David Coleman Headley in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The Indian agencies informed the FBI that Abu Jundal’s interrogation had revealed that Headley was in fact an “integral part” of the 26/11 plot and was always closely associated with Lashkar-e-Tayyaba.
Headley has already been convicted by a court in the United States for his role in 26/11. After Jundal’s deportation from Saudi Arabia, India had assured US agencies it will share all information that comes to light either on Headley or anyone else of interest to America.
The Indian agencies now hope these fresh revelations on Headley will not only help secure a longer sentence for him, but also help the FBI gather more information on LeT’s possible links in the United States.
“Jundal disclosed he was told by top LeT commanders like Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi that Headley was part of the 26/11 conspiracy since the very beginning,” a senior investigating official said.
