J.S. Kehar sworn-in as new chief justice of Karnataka
Justice J.S. Kehar was on Sunday sworn in as the new Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court at a brief ceremony at Raj Bhavan on Sunday.
Kehar, who was the Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court earlier, was administered the oath of office and secrecy by governor, Mr H.R. Bhardwaj.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended among others by Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, the law minister, Mr Suresh Kumar, and Lokayukta, Mr Santosh Hegde.
Kehar took over as the Chief Justice from Mr P.D. Dinakaran, who has been transferred to Sikkim.
