JPC will question Maran, says Chacko
The role of former communications minister Dayanidhi Maran will also be investigated by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probing the 2G spectrum scam, its chairman P.C. Chacko said on Saturday.
“Maran as a former minister will come in front of the panel. We have asked the department of telecom for all the papers of decisions taken during the period. We have decided to call all the former ministers and secretaries, and all former Trai (Telecom Regulatory of India) chairmen,” Chacko told Times Now news channel.
He, however, refused to comment on the demand for resignation of Maran, who is at present Central textile minister. “It is for the prime minister to take a call on the demand for Maran’s resignation,” Chacko said.
