Joshi, Maken in Rahul’s poll team
The Congress on Tuesday brought in senior leaders C.P. Joshi and Ajay Maken into the party’s high-power election coordination committee headed by Rahul Gandhi for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. With their addition, the number of the six-member committee, set up on November 15, 2012, has gone up to eight.
The election coordination committee consists of Mr Ahmed Patel, Mr Janardan Dwivedi, Mr Digvijay Singh, Mr Madhusudan Mistry, Mr Jairam Ramesh besides Mr Gandhi. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi constituted this committee with three sub-groups on pre-poll alliances, manifesto and government programmes and communications and publicity for the Lok Sabha elections.
