Jogi launches poster war against Mahant
Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi on Friday launched a poster war against his arch rival, Chhattisgarh PCC chief Charan Das Mahant, to protest against the alleged attempt by the latter to clip his wings in the party.
Mr Jogi hanged two large posters on the main gate of his house here exhorting Congressmen to approach Mr Mahant, not him, for party tickets for the ensuing Assembly polls in the state, slated to be held by the end of this year. “Kripaya ticket ke liye mujhse sampark na karein. Ticket ke liye Congress Bhavan mein mananiya adhyakshya ji se sampark karein (please do not approach me for ticket. Approach the state party chief in Congress headquarters here for party nominations),” the posters read. His move is viewed in Congress circles here as a counter-challenge to Mr Mahant.
to prove his influence over state party after the latter dared him by taking out Kalash Yatra, the party campaign in memory of Congress leaders killed in the May 25 Naxal attack in Bastar, in his (Mr Jogi’s) turf in Marwah in Bilashpur district earlier in the day in his absence.
