JKNPP announces Jammu bandh on Friday
Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party on Thursday gave a call for “Jammu bandh” on Friday to protest the "anti-India and communally provocative statement" by chief minister Omar Abdullah in the state Legislative Assembly.
"We have made an appeal to all the political parties, nationalists, patriotic people, youth and student organisations to observe a joint bandh tomorrow in Jammu against anti-national, anti-India and communally provocative statement of Omar Abdullah in Legislative Assembly yesterday," JKNPP chairman Bhim Singh told reporters here.
We demand withdrawal of the statement of Mr Omar made in the Assembly describing accession by Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947 as conditional agreement thus violating oath of allegiance to the constitution of India that chief minister has taken, he said.
It was Mr Omar who raised the boggy of rehabilitation of POK militants, demoralised security forces and attacked Centre by propagating revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Singh added.
