JD-U: RJD-LJP, Cong working together
The ruling JD(U) in Bihar is of the opinion that the RJD-LJP and Congress are in tacit seat adjustment for the state Assembly elections. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is reportedly fine-tuning his electoral strategy with a view that the three rival parties are working in tandem behind the doors. A day after Mr Kumar stated that the RJD-LJP
combine would seek an alliance with the Congress after the Bihar elections, senior JD(U) leader Shaym Razak, who was once a staunch loyalist of the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav told this newspaper that three rival parties are already working together behind the doors.
“We have reports that the RJD-LJP combine is in a tacit seat adjustment with the Congress in Bihar. This will become clear once these parties announce their candidates for the October-November elections. The JD (U) knows this arrangement of the RJD-LJP and Congress,” stated Mr Razak.
The senior JD(U) leader dismissed the claim of Mr Yadav of having no truck with the Congress as a mere public posturing and stated that the RJD chief sitting on the front row in the Lok Sabha is an enough proof of his good relations with the Congress. Mr Razak had quit the RJD to join the JD(U), after “realising that Mr Kumar have been doing a good work in the state”. He went on to say that Mr Yadav has lost electoral credibility and he is no more an issue for the people.
“Earlier, Mr Yadav had aligned with the Left parties. Later, he had tied up with the Congress. Further, he forged an alliance with the LJP. He has done too many things. He is no more an issue in Bihar elections,” added Mr Razak.
The senior JD(U) leader stated that the party workers would enthusiastically support the bid of Mr Kumar to return to power again. On the reported anger among the party workers, Mr Razak said that the issue has been dealt with and there are no more rumblings within the party rank and the JD(U)-BJP combine are working in a very cohesive manner.
