Jayalalithaa is a visionary leader, says Narendra Modi
Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Saturday appealed to like-minded political parties to join hands and shun dynastic politics in the country.
“We need a new breed of politicians to execute this,” Mr Modi said participating in the 42nd anniversary of Tamil magazine Thuglak.
He said both Gujarat and TN are moving in the direction of good governance and development.
Describing TN chief minister Jayalalithaa as a “courageous and visionary leader” capable of guiding the destiny of TN as the most progressive state, he said she was a leader capable of giving good and corruption-free governance.
Mr Modi also slammed the Congress-led UPA government for lacking an agenda for development and self-sufficiency for food grain. “We are having the most corrupt government since Independence. UPA has no political will due to its vote-bank politics.”
Speaking on the occasion, Thuglak editor Cho Ramasamy asserted that only Advani can lead the BJP to greater heights, as he is the tallest leader in the country.
“In my view, the BJP can win easily if Narendra Modi is made the Prime Ministerial candidate. It will be electrifying if Modi becomes the PM,” he remarked adding that Jayalalithaa will compete with Modi and excel him in performance if she rules TN for the next 10 years.
