Jaya patches up with close friend Sasikala, not her kin

Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa on Saturday accepted the explanation of her close friend Sasikala and revoked disciplinary action against her.
“Ms V.K. Sasikala has sent a letter to me. She also issued a statement. I accept her explanation and revoke the disciplinary action against her on December 19,” Ms Jayalalithaa said.
She made it clear the action against Sasikala’s relatives, including husband M. Natarajan, brother Diwakar and nephew T.T.V. Dinakaran, would remain. This comes three days after Sasikala made an emotional statement pledging loyalty and snapping ties with her “scheming” relatives, and paves the way for her return to Ms Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden residence, where she had lived for the last 24 years.
