Jaiswal says BSP govt is barbaric
Union minister for coal Sriprakash Jaiswal on Friday termed the Mayawati government as “insensitive and barbaric” and demanded a CBI probe into the murders of two CMOs, deputy CMO and a minor girl in Lakhimpur police station.
“If the state government does not recommend a CBI probe into these cases, it will be deemed that the government has admitted its failure on the law and order front,” he said while addressing a press conference here.
The minister said that if the chief minister was unable to control the law and order situation, she should step down from the office. He added that the BSP government had tarnished the image of Uttar Pradesh. Mr Jaiswal said that in UP, chaos and anarchy was prevailing and women and children were soft targets while the police force had gone berserk.
He pointed out that if the victim’s family in Lakhimpur could get a copy of the FIR lodged in the case, it was only because of the pressure of Mr Rahul Gandhi who visited the distraught family on Wednesday.
To a question, the minister said that the Centre would not resort to dismissal of the Mayawati government which would ultimately be thrown out by the people themselves.
