It helps to have mp, mla of same party: priyanka
Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that lack of coordination between the MP and MLA hinders development of a region or constituency.
Addressing a meeting Jagdishpur on Saturday, Ms Vadra said that it always helps to have MP and MLA of the same party.
She told the people that “Rahul has made a special scheme for the development of this area and your progress. If the people strengthen the hands of Congress, it would be easier to bring development to the region.”
Ms Vadra alleged that funds meant for central schemes were being misused by the UP government even as similar projects were running smoothly in other states.
“The funds sent to the state do not reach you. It is eaten up by the government here. You must have seen how many schemes have been given by the Centre and how much funds are given for them but it gets stuck in the state,” she said.
Ms Vadra called upon the people to realise the importance of their vote and said, “You should realise your strength and that of your vote. Vote a person as MLA who works for you and whose intentions are noble. Leaders tend to make you forget your strength and you think that they are more powerful,” she said.
She further said that the difference between Congress and other parties is that it treats all equally and does not concern itself with any one particular caste or religion.
