Israel blast accused may be Iran spook
Highly-placed sources claimed on Friday that there was a strong possibility that Masoud Sedaghatzdeh, the Iranian mastermind behind the Delhi and Bangkok blasts, might be linked to an Iranian intelligence agency.
“There is no doubt that such Iranian modules have mushroomed in some more countries to target Israeli interests. And they will strike in days to come if not neutralised. Surprisingly, as happened in case of Tbilisi and Bangkok, one cannot even imagine that Iranian modules could come up in such countries. They have carefully chosen countries which will not arouse suspicion,” a senior intelligence official said.
The passport details of Sedaghatzdeh are being verified to check which countries he had visited recently. The agencies are also trying to ascertain if he posses more than one passport, a practice commonly among operatives backed by intelligence agencies.
Meanwhile, the Interpol issued Red Corner notices against four Iranians for their involvement in the case following a request from Delhi police. Apart from Sedaghatzdeh other accused are: Irani, Syed Ali Mahdiansadr and Mohammadreza Abo-lghasemi.
