IPL spot-fixing: SC dismisses PIL seeking CBI investigation

The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to entertain a PIL seeking shifting of the probe into the IPL spot-fixing from the Delhi and Mumbai police to the CBI to unearth the larger conspiracy. A bench headed by Justice B.S. Chauhan asked petitioner Sharmila Ghuge, an educationist in a Mumbai law college, to approach the high court.

The petitioner said the probe should be handed over to the CBI so that the proper coordination takes place and the guilty persons do not go scot-free due to “mismanagement and lack of co-ordination between different police agencies”.
