Intel probes Dubai link to twin blasts
The Central intelligence agencies assisting the National Investigation Agency and Hyderabad police in probing the twin bombings in Hyderabad on February 20 are now looking at a possible Dubai link.
Highly placed intelligence sources here pointed out that they have zeroed in on some Dubai numbers to which calls from made from near the blast spot in Dilsukhnagar within minutes of the explosions. Some of these numbers, sources added, were already on the “watch-list” of these agencies.
“There are some specific numbers which are under the scanner of the investigating agencies and these may provide some clues. Technical investigations are also being conducted to sift through a number of chat sites to identify some suspicious messages having been exchanged on the dates close to the explosions. These investigations are progressing in the right direction,” a senior intelligence official remarked.
Another important aspect being examined by the investigating agencies is the possibility of funds coming in from Dubai or some other place in West Asia through the hawala network.
