Intel builds guest list of Dawood son’s wedding
Indian intelligence agencies are busy piecing together the guest list for the wedding of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s son, Moin Nawaz, held on September 23 this year at his palatial White House in Karachi.
This, intelligence sources claim, is important since Moin is the last of Dawood’s three children to get married and a number of close associates and relatives of the don were present at the wedding.
During investigations intelligence agencies stumbled upon never before seen photographs of Dawood’s close family members who had gathered for the wedding. Dawood did not allow any videography or photography at the wedding or the walima (reception) on the advice of Pakistani intelligence agencies. But a few pictures taken by some close relatives have now found their way to the Indian agencies.
Security and intelligence agencies maintain an elaborate dossier on Dawood and his immediate family members and these pictures are now part of the dossier. Even though there are no criminal cases against some members of Dawood’s family, they are still kept under a constant scanner as the agencies feel that through them they could get information on Dawood and his key underworld associates.
“It is important to scan the guest list since, being the last wedding, a large number of people were there and some of them may be linked to Dawood’s underworld activities. Some of them may be new, whom even we don’t know, so they will have to be monitored regularly,” a senior intelligence official said.
