India aid for Jalalabad victims’ kin
Reaching out to Afghanistan in the aftermath of the attack on the Indian consulate in Jalalabad on Saturday, India has announced generous financial assistance for the next of kin of those who died as well as for the injured.
The announcement was made during a visit by the Indian ambassador in Afghanistan, Amar Sinha to Jalalabad on Tuesday. During his visit to Jalalabad, Mr Sinha met the families of those who died in the attack as well as the governor of Nangarhar, the eastern border province of Afghanistan whose capital is Jalalabad. The announcement was made on a day when India was holding Pakistan responsible for the killing of five of its soldiers on the LoC in the Poonch sector.
