IB gives general clean chit

In a move that is likely to ease tensions between the Chief of Army Staff and the government, the Intelligence Bureau has given a clean chit to Gen. V.K. Singh over the leakage of a highly classified letter written by him to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the country’s defence preparedness.
The “letter bomb” rocked Parliament a few days ago after it got leaked to a section of the media. The IB was tasked with identifying the source, and while there was a feeling the Chief was responsible, investigations have now clearly established that Gen. Singh had no direct involvement.
