Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy told some of the YSRC leaders who met him soon after his arrest to ask his supporters to remain calm and not resort to any violence in view of the byelections.
Reddy was grilled for nine hours at Dilkusha Guest House by the CBI. He told the leaders, “I will fight the battle legally and I am confident of a positive outcome and justice from the courts.”

Commenting on the CBI questioning him, he said, “The CBI is trying to delay my questioning to keep me away from campaigning. They are asking repeatedly irrelevant questions about investments even before my father became Chief Minister in 2004. But I am answering with patience because they will otherwise accuse me of not cooperating.” He has a choice of either appearing in person or being represented by his counsel on Monday in the CBI court.

Reacting to the arrests of YSR Congress leaders and workers, he said they had been arrested in false cases. “The government is trying to malign me. They were forcibly asked to give statements against me.”

He said many legislators from the Congress and TD had approached him, but “I will be choosy about who I pick for my party,” he said.

Meanwhile, an emotional drama unfolded in Dilkusha guest house when Jagan’s mother Y.S. Vijayalakshmi and his wife Bharathi met him after his arrest on Sunday.

Vijayalakshmi, Bharathi and his sister Sharmila broke into tears. The MP who looked strong till then was also upset after seeing them. They spoke to Jagan for more than half-an-hour. Later she took up deeksha.

Earlier in the day during the grilling was too hot as Jagan asked CBI officials that why was he targeted. He said all his investments all clean.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
