Hyderabad NIA gets custody of bhatkal
A special Delhi court on Saturday allowed NIA Hyderabad to arrest Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal in connection with Dilsukhnagar blast case and granted him to two-day transit remand of the unit.
Bhatkal was produced before district judge I.S. Mehta amidst tight security, following the expiry of his four days NIA custody, which sent him to transit remand of NIA Hyderabad unit till September 23.
Earlier, NIA told the court that Bhatkal be remanded to judicial custody, as he is not required for further custodial interrogation, in connection with various other blast cases across India.
However, NIA’s Hyderabad unit moved a plea seeking permission to arrest Bhatkal in connection with February 2013 Dilsukhnagar twin blast case that left 16 people dead.
