Herbal fuel man back, plans to sell fuel for Rs 5/litre
Herbal fuel fame Ramar Pillai is back in news. This time, he is coming out with âalternative bio fuelâ that he plans to sell at Rs.5 a litre in a couple of months.
âMy 15 years of hard work is bearing fruit and I will produce my bio fuel at a Rs. 1.5 crore plant being set up near Sriperumbudur. Production will begin on August 10. It will be my Independence Day gift to the nationâ, Pillai told DC.
He said the plant would have an initial daily capacity to produce one-lakh litres of bio fuel, which he has named as âVelar bio hydro carbon fuelâ.
His production cost would be Rs.4.25 per litre and he would sell it at Rs.5 per litre. âAll the necessary clearances have been obtained. My fuel will be good for the engine and green for environment. To begin with, it will be used in generators on trial basis and after five months, Velar will be ready for commercial launchâ.
Pillai claimed he was setting up the plant with help from Sri Sri Ravishankar and Baba Ramdev. The machines are being brought from Haridwar and civil work would start on June 22.
The plant will be ready in a month. âTwo leading scientists from IIT-Madras have inspected the machineriesâ, he said.
Pillai said Singaore, Malaysia and Denmark had evinced interest to partner with him on the fuel project. He would first introduce the fuel in India and thereafter go global, he said.
Asked about Pillaiâs project, a spokesperson for Sri Sri said, âRamar Pillai has met Guruji. However, there has been no further progress as we haven't got any project report from him. Of course, Guruji would like to promote anything that would help the countryâ.
