Help lines to get details of pilgrims
Rajahmundry: Authorities in both the Godavari districts have set up help lines at collectorates in order to receive information pertaining to the stranded pilgrims of Char Dham Yatra at Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand from their kin and communicate to the state government to enable it to pursue with the Uttarakhand government to rescue them and ensure their safe return to their home state.
West Godavari administration has received information from the kin of the stranded pilgrims.
Accordingly, about 32 from Bhimavaram, 30 from Jangareddygudem, six from Ungutur, two from Eluru and several others from various parts of the district were learnt to have been stranded due to landslides.
The district administration is collecting information pertaining to the names of the pilgrims and their places of residence, their places of visit and the details pertaining to the travel agencies and the vehicles used for transport from their local relatives.
This information is being passed on to the commissioner, state disaster management authority, which in turn is forwarded to the Uttarakhand government to pursue locally. The authorities opened a help line with the number 08812-230617 at collectorate at Eluru.
Meanwhile, collector Neetu Prasad said that the relatives of pilgrims can know the details of stranded pilgrims by dialing toll free no. 10 77.
