HC blast: 2 more held
In what is viewed as an important breakthrough a week after the Delhi high court blast, the National Investigation Agency has arrested two more persons, Aamir Abas and Hilal Amin, from Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The two had handed
over the pen drive containing the terror email to two boys who, in turn, had emailed it to media outfits from a cybercafé in Kishtwar a few hours after the blast.
NIA sources said that apart from these arrests, multi-member probe teams from the NIA, Intelligence Bureau and the J&K police were questioning at least five other operatives of the Harkat-ul-Jehadi-al-Islami (HuJI) in J&K.
From the content, sources added, it was clear the two boys could not have drafted the email. During sustained interrogation the boys, Shariq Ahmed and Abid Hussain, revealed mo-re names, saying the draft of the email had been given to them by two others.
NIA officials confirmed that one of the HuJI operatives being questioned was Hafiz Amir, who had given the pen drive to the boys. “We have done a background check on Amir which revealed he had links with a radical religious outfit and even some members of HuJI, Bangla-desh,” an NIA official said.
