Hasan Ali surrenders
Moments after the Supreme Court granted custody of stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan to the Enforcement Directorate, Mr Khan vanished from the ED office. He finally reappeared late Thursday night and surrendered before the ED.
ED sources had said they were unable to get in touch with Mr Khan, who is said to have gone into hiding. Mr Khan’s lawyer had told this newspaper he would surrender before the court only after the review petition was filed before the Supreme Court Friday. Mr Khan has been accused of stashing billions in foreign banks. The SCourt on Thursday cancelled Mr Khan’s bail and remanded him to four days in ED custody for interrogation. Mr Khan was spotted emerging from the ED office at around 1.30 pm before he vanished. He finally gave himself up Thursday night.
