Govt to adopt Mehra report
The government is likely to consider and adopt the findings and suggestions made by the Justice Usha Mehra committee report at a meeting of the Union Cabinet, which will take place on Thursday.
The committee was constituted under the Commission of Enquiry Act 1952 in the aftermath of December 16, 2012 Delhi gangrape and had submitted its report to the law ministry in February this year.
Sources informed that the report of the committee containing “suggestions” to ensure safety and security of women is high on the agenda of the meeting.
