Give BSY key BJP post, say 12 K’taka MPs
Using pressure tactics, 12 Karnataka MPs considered close to former state chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Thursday met senior BJP leader L.K. Advani demanding Mr Yeddyu-rappa’s immediate reinstatement. At his meeting with
party president Nitin Gadk-ari earlier this week, the former chief minister had sought the post of state unit chief, now held by friend-turned-foe K.S. Eshwarappa.
Mr Yeddyurappa’s earlier demand to be made chief minister again had been rejected by the BJP top brass. It is learnt, however, that Mr Yeddyurappa was assured by the party’s central leadership that he will be adequately compensated with a prominent position in the party hierarchy.
These MPs also submitted a letter to Mr Advani signed by 17 state MPs who claimed the BJP was on a downward spiral in Karnat-aka after Mr Yeddyur-appa’s departure.
