Girl 'loses her speech' after frightened by fellow students

A college girl here 'lost her speech' after some students allegedly frightened her at a hostel in Bondapalli mandal of the district, police said on Sunday.

B. Shyamali, a 11th standard student at an educational institute at Gotlam was allegedly frightened by some unidentified persons on July 19 at the hostel after which she 'lost her voice', they said adding the girl was hospitalised at Visakhapatnam following the incident and was unable to speak even as injury marks were seen on her throat.

The girl's family members complained to Bondapalli police alleging that some of her classmates who used to tease her were responsible for the incident.

Police are further investigating the case.
