Girl, 18, raped by father, brother

The torture that an 18-year-old girl was subjected to was revealed after an FIR registered at the Dombivali police station said that she was reportedly raped repeatedly by her father for two years and brother for two months.
The police arrested the father-son duo on Friday.

The family lives at the Phadke Road in Dombivli (East) and the matter came to light after a local social worker took up the girl’s case.
The police officials said that the girl’s mother divorced her father around three years ago. After the father was given the custody of the girl, he started raping her almost on a daily basis.
After carrying out his demonish acts, he would threaten his daughter to keep mum on the issue. “The father asked her not to discuss it outside anywhere.
According to her complaint, he intimidated her into submission,” said senior police inspector Vilas Jadhav from the Dombivli police station.
Around two months ago, her 20-year-old brother too started raping her and raped her on two occasions.
The girl was sitting in a disturbed state of mind when a friend spotted her on Friday night at the Dombivali railway station.
Upon questioning her, she narrated her ordeal, after which her friend took her to her mother, who is a social worker and activist. The trio then approached the police station late on Friday night and filed a complaint, following which the father-son duo was arrested. The duo was charged with rape and criminal intimidation and was later produced in court on Saturday. The court remanded the two to police custody till January 3. “The girl was admitted to the Thane Civil Hospital and we are waiting for the medical reports,” added Mr Jadhav.
“We will also question persons known to the family. More facts will emerge when we conduct a detailed interrogation,” said another police official.
