Gadgil urges party to reject right to recall
Maharashtra Congress leader Anant Gadgil has urged the party high command to reject the demand for the right to reject and recall. Viewing that the demand (coming from non-political organisations) is neither feasible nor wise politically, Mr Gadgil said, “If we consider the average population of a typical parliamentary constituency in India, it will take two to three years just to verify the signatures only.” He said that the suggested legislation would lead to mini general elections every two to three years.
Mr Gadgil has sent a note in this regard to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Union law minister Salman Khurshid.

Naqvi: cong, bsp trying to mislead people
age correspondent
new delhi, Nov. 13
Dismissing the war of words between the Congress and UP CM Mayawati as “Noora Kushti” (fake battle), the BJP said the two are acting and performing to the galleries on a pre-written script to mislead the people from the main issue of “rampant crime and corruption” and “inflation”. BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “The Noora Kushti was scripted by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and enacted by Kumari Mayawati and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi on the electoral stage of UP with a view to divert people’s attention.”
