Five militants surrender in Manipur
Five militants from different outfits have surrendered in Manipur, The police said on Tuesday.
One cadre each from the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) and two activists of the People's United Liberation Front (PULF) laid down their arms before the additional director general of police V Zathang and inspector general of Assam Rifles (South) Maj Gen C A Krishnan last evening.
The arms included an M16 rifle and four 9mm pistols along with some ammunitions, sources said.
The militants were identified as Y Romeo (UNLF), M Jiten (KCP), N Ranjan (PREPAK), Md Nazirkhan (PULF) and Md Salman Khan (PULF).
