FIR FILED OVER FUNDS’ MISUSE BY KIRAN BEDI
Acting on court orders, the Delhi police on Sunday registered an FIR against former top IPS officer and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi for alleged misappropriation of funds meant for her NGOs. The case was filed under IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
A court had ordered filing of an FIR on a complaint by a Delhi lawyer, Devinder Singh Chauhan, despite opposition by the police.
Ms Bedi told reporters on Sunday: “Having been a cop, I have endurance to deal with this FIR. I have sound evidence.”

With polls near, Cong defers its ‘chintan shivir’
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, Nov. 27
The Congress has dropped plans to hold a “chintan shivir”, with Assembly elections looming in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa. But some insiders feel the FDI issue, among others, needs to be discussed within a party forum as there is confusion in the rank and file. The issue could be major Opposition plank in the poll-bound states.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi had called for such a “shivir” at the party plenary last December.
