FIR against UP ex-Cabinet secy
Ms Mayawati’s trusted bureaucrats are in trouble. An FIR has been lodged against former Cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh, senior IAS officer Navneet Sehgal and two others for allegedly threatening a litigant in the Taj corridor case.
ASP Rajesh Kumar told reporters on Saturday that the FIR as lodged at the Hazratganj police station against former Cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh, IAS officer Navneet Sehgal, founder of Amity University Ashok Chau-han and former MLA Ajay Pratap Singh alias Lalla Bhaiyya on a complaint filed by Anupama Singh, a petitioner in the Taj corridor case.
The ASP said the complainant has alleged that she was being harassed by the accused.
The FIR has been lodged under Sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 504 (criminal intimidation), 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) and 452 (trespassing) of the IPC.
“Since the case relates to the Gomti Nagar police station, investigations have been transferred and further action would be taken on the basis of evidences and facts,” the ASP added.
Meanwhile, Anupama Singh said that she had filed a PIL against former chief minister Mayawati and PWD minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court in 2009.
