FBI forensic test in Kauser Bi case

Almost six years after the alleged murder of Kauser Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, the CBI has recovered a piece of footwear believed to belong to her from near a village in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat.

The CBI has also decided to seek the help of the US’ Federal Bureau of Investigation for forensic examination of pieces of bone and teeth recently recovered from the village.
Sources said the need for FBI help was felt as it has the most advanced lab in the world and Indian labs are not equipped to extract detailed forensic information, like DNA details, from human remains after they have been burnt. Sohrabu-ddin, his wife Kauser Bi and another person were picked up during a joint operation by the Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh police.
