Ex-CVC slams DoT officials

In another blow to the telecom department over the 2G spectrum scam, former Central Vigilance Commissioner Pratyush Sinha on Sunday stated that the telecom officials created hindrance in the investigation of the 2G spectrum scam.

While speaking to the media, Mr Sinha, who retired in August 2010, also said, “There was a delay on part of telecom ministry officials to reply to queries raised by the commission in its probe. But somehow, we (CVC) managed to get the documents needed for the investigation.”
Mr Sinha further said, “It is too early to comment on why these delays were done and it is also not possible to point if these delays were intentional.”
He added, “Based on the investigation, at a glance, it appeared that there had been certain lapses in following government policies and the reasons for these lapses are a matter of investigation. These lapses needed to be further probed.”
