Ex-CMs deny role in Adarsh housing
Mumbai, Oct. 31: Amid reports that more leaders from the Congress and NCP in Maharashtra could have links with the controversial Adarsh Housing Society, three former Maharashtra chief ministers and an NCP leader claimed on Sunday that they had not recommended any case for membership.
The Union minister, Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh, and the current state revenue minister, both former chief minister, and the Maharashtra water resources minister, Mr Ajit Pawar, who is a nephew of NCP chief and the Union minister, Mr Sharad Pawar, rejected the allegations against them as an attempt to defame them.
The Union minister, Mr Sushilkumar Shinde, also a former CM, said newspapers were making a “hue and cry” over the Adarsh Housing Society matter.
