Ex-Army officer arrested for molesting minor

A retired Army officer has been arrested by the city police for allegedly molesting a minor.

Lt. Col. Tejinder Singh, who runs a training institute in Kondhva area, was arrested on Sunday night. He is accused of misbehaving with the Class IX student who was attending his tuition class, according to a complaint filed by her parents.

The matter came to light when the girl refused to go to tuition for the abacus maths examination, the police said. Singh, 48, has been charged under section 354 of IPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
