Everybody should respect Ayodhya verdict: Moily
Union law and justice minister Veerappa Moily on Wednesday said everyone should respect the Ayodhya verdict, slated to be delivered by Allhabad high court on Thursday.
“Everybody should respect and accept the Ayodhya verdict. There is always the scope to move Supreme Court on the issue,” Mr Moily, who was here to attend the first convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur, told reporters here.
Appealing the people to maintain calm and harmony whichever way the verdict goes, the Union minister said it should be taken as a mere judicial process.
The Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh also made similar appeal to the people of the state asking them not to be swayed by the court ruling. He said Chhattisgarh always enjoyed the reputation of being a peaceful state and never witnessed any communal incident.
“I hope the people of Chhattisgarh will uphold the reputation of the state at any cost”, he added.
Meanwhile, unprecedented security arrangements have been made in many places, particularly the sensitive areas in the state to avoid any kind of untoward incident in the aftermath of the court verdict. At least seven towns in the state have been identified as sensitive areas and massive security arrangements have been made in these places. Security has also been stepped up in state capital of Raipur. Armed police forces and Central paramilitary forces staged flag march in the city in the morning.
