Emotions stirred to ensure victory
A bowl of emotions stirred in with tears makes a super-hit dish in elections.
Four women, in separate age groups, in three different districts are using emotions to try and deliver a perfectly baked victory for their husbands and father.
In Bhadohi, Ramlali Misra is moving from house to house to seek votes for her husband Vijay Misra, who is presently lodged in Meerut jail for masterminding the bomb attack on BSP minister Nand Gopal Nandi. She distributes tiny packets of “sindoor” to the women voters and urges them to vote for her husband so that he can get justice. Vijay Misra is the Samajwadi candidate from Gyanpur seat.
In Chandauli, 17-year-old Priyanka Singh addresses a corner meeting in Syedraza Assembly constituency and asks, “Has my father ever misbehaved or harmed any mother, sister or daughter? If not, please vote for him and help him return to his home”…. and bursts into tears.
A silence drops on the gathering and a wave of sympathy surges ahead.
Priyanka is the daughter of gangster Brijesh Singh who is lodged in Ahmedabad jail and is contesting the Syedraza seat.
