Eight new hospitals to come up in Delhi
The Delhi government will construct eight new hospitals in various parts of the national capital including rural areas where people face difficulties in availing health facilities in government hospitals, said Health Minister A.K. Walia on Tuesday.
On completion, these hospitals will provide additional 2,000 beds in the city, he said.
An official statement said the public works department has done the spadework for starting the construction of these hospitals.
While 200-bedded hospitals are going to be constructed in Burari, Madipur, Siraspur, Hastsal, Ambedkar Nagar and Sarita Vihar areas, a 750-bed hospital is planned to come up in Dwarka.
"The PWD has been instructed to complete construction within a stipulated schedule while closely monitoring structural stability and prescribed specifications in respect of approved hospitals," the statement added.
