DU girl’s ‘killer’ held
A Delhi police special team on Friday brought the main accused in the Radhika Tanwar murder case, 25-year-old Vijay, alias Ram Singh, to Delhi after arresting him in a Mumbai suburb. Singh, who had fled to Mumbai after allegedly killing Radhika, was held in Mumbai’s Vikroli area. He is a native of Vishan in UP’s Sitapur area.
Delhi police commissioner B.K. Gupta described Singh on Saturday as a “mentally ill” and with a “psychopathic obsession” for stalking women. Mr Gupta said the accused allegedly killed Radhika for “snubbing” him.
Police officers confirmed Singh was arrested from Tagore Garden in Vikroli around 11 pm on Friday. “We immediately brought him (Singh) to Delhi where he was scheduled to appear in court,” said Mr Gupta, adding that the officers were on Saturday given a further four days’ custody of the accused. Singh is also an accused in the murder of a close relative in Sitapur.
