Doc killed in prison in Bihar

The brutal murder of a jail doctor on duty by convicted prisoners inside a jail in Bihar has prompted the state’s shocked government doctors to call a day-long strike in protest on Tuesday and renewed demands for stringent measures to protect doctors across the state.

The murderous attack on Dr Bhudeo Singh inside the Gopalganj district jail on Sunday noon, allegedly by seven prisoners convicted of abduction, and his death during a delayed journey to Patna for treatment later in the day, have raised charges of conspiracy by the district administration and jail authorities. The slain doctor’s family and the Opposition parties called for a CBI probe on Monday.
