Digvijay labels Baba Ramdev a hypocrite and a fraud
Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Friday labelled yoga guru Baba Ramdev a fraud after a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team arrested his aide Balkrishna in connection with an alleged fake documents case.
Singh said the Congress Party would expose Baba Ramdev's misdeeds soon, and asked his party men to follow the non-violent path.
"The Congress Party follows the path of non-violence. I do not believe that violence is ever good. I am appealing to my party workers not to start a movement, which may turn violent. We will, with dignity and non-violence, open all cases of this hypocrite Baba. We will expose all of his black deeds," Singh told media in Bhopal even as police arrested some Congress workers for disturbing the peace.
"Action has already been taken against him in a Rs. 80 crore money laundering case. His disciple Balakrishna is appearing before the CBI today," he added on Friday.
The CBI had earlier today arrested Balkrishna in a July 10 case relating to submission of alleged fake documents to obtain an Indian passport.
A special CBI court in Dehradun had earlier in the day issued a non-bailable warrant against Balkrishna .
He had been asked to be present in court on Friday, but failed to appear.
The CBI had registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against him on July 23 last year for allegedly procuring fake degree and violation of section 12 of Indian Passport Act for furnishing fake documents to get a passport.
The agency said its investigation had established that the accused, in connivance with a co-accused, had furnished false information and submitted fake and forged high school and graduation certificates to the passport authorities for obtaining a passport.
