Diggy submits Telangana report to Sonia
Even as the party remains divided on regional lines over the contentious issue of a separate Telangana, Congress general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Monday said that he has submitted his proposal over the matter to party supremo Sonia Gandhi and that a decision would be taken soon.
Digvijay Singh told reporters that the timing of the decision would depend on the preparedness of the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, deputy chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and state Congress president Botsa Satyanarayana.
Declining to put a time frame for arriving at a decision he said, “When they get ready and Sonia Gandhi has time, they will appear before the core committee and a decision would be taken soon.”
Mr Singh who had recently gone to Andhra Pradesh to discuss the issue also met a group of students from Osmania University here.
